Samantha Sharp, M.A.

Psychology Extern

Samantha Sharp received her BA in Psychology at Belmont Abbey College, where she conducted research into bibliotherapeutic interventions for those with histories of trauma. While completing her MA in Clinical Psychology at California State University, Northridge, she trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as child and adolescent assessment, while teaching within the Psychology department. In addition to her graduate work at CSUN, she earned state certification as a Sexual Assault Counselor at Strength United, where she provided CBT based clinical services, as well as advocacy, to sexual assault survivors of diverse ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, and ethnic backgrounds. She is currently a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Her doctoral training has included a placement in the first clinician cohort at the South Los Angeles Trauma Recovery Center, where she trained in Trauma Focused CBT for children and adolescents, and provided services to a diverse array of clients. Samantha’s research and clinical interests include evidence based practices for diverse populations who have experienced trauma.
